A useful place to start

Observe the combination
Compare an expression with the same face at rest. Notice the brow shape, eyelids and mouth before choosing a label. The lessons introduce seven commonly studied patterns, not an exhaustive list of human emotion.
When two examples look alike, compare one region at a time. The fear and surprise lesson is a useful place to start.
