A little practice.
A sharper eye.
Learn Microexpressions is an independent facial-expression learning tool.
How we teach
Start with the visible movement: compare a neutral face with an expression, study the brows, eyes and mouth, and practice identifying the combination. Beginner sessions provide one second of exposure and immediate feedback. Intermediate uses half a second; Advanced uses 200 milliseconds and feedback at the end.
The seven lesson categories are a starting vocabulary for practice. They are not a complete map of human emotion.
Practice materials and results
The current practice library uses AI-generated illustrations. Briefly displaying an illustration is a recognition exercise, not a recording of a spontaneous microexpression. Scores describe performance on these examples, not a clinical assessment, professional certification or measure of lie-detection ability.
Review is based on the most recent answer for each example. A correct answer removes that example from your missed-example queue. Progress stays in your browser; no camera, recordings or uploads are needed.
